Hello, for many years we looked forward to a weekend escape from what was a hectic, fast paced working week in London. We craved for quality time, open space, fresh air and a sea breeze to restore our energies before returning home to kick start another week… that was the beginning of a new direction for us both.
Not only did we find just that but we fell in love with this attractive and resolutely old-fashioned seaside town. We started to dream of changing our lives and within time decided to take early retirement and a leap of faith to follow a dream… and here we are now.

Whilst working on the house we have been very lucky to meet many people who have stopped by to share and recall their memories of happy times spent as a guest in the house, it seems so very fitting that the house once again will be opening the doors to host your bed and breakfast escapes.
The House, The Corner Broadstairs
The house dates back to 1893 and was one of the first to be built on West Cliff Road when Broadstairs was predominately a tiny fishing village.
The House started life as St Quentin’s and was a family home as far as we know until the early 50’s when it first became a guest house. In the 70’s along with the adjoining house it became Corner-Ways a twelve-bedroom hotel. We discovered much of this after we had brought the house which had in more recent years been converted back to an individual family house.
You may ask how and why have we called it The Corner Broadstairs? Well, the house sits proudly on the corner of West Cliff Road and West Cliff Avenue and from the very first viewing it became known as ‘the corner’… so you could say it stuck and became a fond nickname.
